Viva Las Vegas!
Seems like 2008 has brought alot of travel so far this year! I escorted a group of 57 on the Fantasy January 21-26 from New Orleans to Cozumel and Progresso. Though I have sailed MANY times on the Fantasy, she is still
new" to me - I never tire of cruising!
Then some time for my husband and I in February with a week's stay at our first all inclusive resort - the Wyndham Cozumel Resort. Roy really went with a negative attitude thinking what in the world would we do for a week. But, he and I both were pleasantly surprised as to how much we really enjoyed the resort and our time together. We got to really explore Cozumel more than we get to just for a port stop. The other side of the island is just beautiful! We rented a car for the week at a very economical rate - compared to what we usually pay for a day rental alone when cruising!
And though we'd been to the Wyndham Cozumel (formerly the Reef Club) since 06 during cruise port stops in Cozumel, this was our first stay at the resort for a week's all inclusive stay. We loved it! We chose to stay at the Sabor - Adults Only section. Beautiful pool configuration - direct access from ground floors into the pool!
Next it was our yearly Cotton Gin Show - the MidSouth Farm and Gin Show in Memphis. We always look forward to this long weekend with several other couples. There are so many great places to eat in Memphis! We stayed again at the Homewood Suites off Poplar in East Memphis as we have for the last several years.
Over Spring Break week, I joined my daughter in taking my 2 grand children to Memphis where we enjoyed the Memphis Zoo and their fantastic Children'ts Museum. They also enjoyed the indoor pool at the Hollywood Casino in Tunica as well as the Aquatic Center. I never knew about this olympic sized pool and neat water park INDOOR pool area for the younger kids.
Then our trip to Las Vegas. Gee, we need to stay home a while now! I must admit that since Roy is a farmer - we are able to travel more this time of the year rather than when he is planting or harvesting.
